DEVLOG 8 "PORTS TO OTHER PLATFORMS"
- Which of the ports do you like most? What does the book say about it?
My favorite port so far in the book might have to be Unicode Perl. In creating mazes, I find it to be a lot more easy to look at compared to ASCII Perl, and the connection of / and \ to be a lot smoother in comparison. I find it to be more unique in that aspect, and has potential to be used in more creative outlets.
- What is an "esolang"? What's the point of an esolang?
Esolang is a programming language that's used for less stable builds and programs, which is great for trying new builds. Its described as weird and creative compared to other programming languages. Because of this, it is considered harder and less-readable compared other languages.
- In this list of esolangs, which is your favorite / which is most interesting to you? Why?
I think the most interesting, and the cutest one I've seen so far is Pikachu! The reason why I find it interesting is because of the surprising simplicity behind it. In the language, there are 3 syntaxes you can use, ( pi
, pika
and pikachu)
and the point is to be readable by any Pikachu, or able to be easily used in general.
